The main body of a photo is prominent in order to better reflect the photographer's intention and make the observer feel that the photo is not empty and has content. What are the methods that photographers can use to make the subject more prominent?
Photography self-study class, summarized 4 photography mnemonics, hoping to help everyone.
The four photography tips to make the photo theme more prominent are as follows:
Backlit flowers and leaves can be translucent. Highlighting the subject requires waiting for light.
Strong motion blur and blurring. Simple and atmospheric main body stick.
Below, we will explain the usage of these four mnemonic phrases by combining specific photos that highlight the subject:
1. Backlit flowers and leaves can be translucent.
Only when there is a difference between the subject and the background can the subject stand out. For example, if the background is a flare, a halo, or a blurry background, while the subject is clear, the subject can stand out:
(1) For example, taking photos of flowers and leaves to make this transparent subject more prominent: it is recommended to choose a time around evening, with backlighting for shooting, and focus on one flower or leaf of the subject.
(2) Select point metering for metering mode and single point focusing for focusing mode. The recommended aperture value is less than or equal to 3.5 (the smaller the aperture value, the larger the aperture, the more blurred the background).
(3) Because the backlight is focused on the subject, adjusting the angle allows the backlight to pass through the petals. In this way, the petals and leaves will reflect a transparent texture, making them more prominent.
(4) If you want to capture both transparency and background light spots, it is recommended to have a certain distance between the main flower and the background, and there are many gaps in the background. This way, the light under the gaps will form a light spot under a large aperture.
2. Highlighting the subject requires waiting for light.
We can also use light to illuminate the theme to emphasize and highlight the subject.
There are two specific shooting methods that need to be noted:
(1) When shooting, pay attention to areas with both light and shadow: place the subject in a bright area, so that the photo has contrast between light and shadow, and both light and shadow. The subject in the light area is more prominent because it is illuminated.
(2) If shooting some landscapes or buildings: we can use the clouds in the sky to create beautiful light and shadow on the ground. When the clouds flash out of the gaps and the light shines onto the subject from the gaps, we can then proceed with the shooting. The subject is emphasized because it is illuminated, making it more prominent.
(3) The first method requires more observation, while the second method requires more waiting.
3. Strong motion blur and blurring.
(1) If the companion body is blurred and the subject is clear, the subject can be more prominent. When shooting motion blur, we need to focus on the moving object and move the lens in the same direction as the moving object to capture a clear subject and a motion blurred background.
(2) But if it is not captured in the early stage, adjustments can also be made through post production phone photo editing. Below is a detailed introduction to the method of repairing motion blur in the later stage:
(3) Open the photo using the mobile photo editing software PicsArt.
(4) Click on the special effects below, find the blur in the special effects, and in the row of small images above, find the dynamic blur. Click on it, and the overall photo will become blurry.
(5) Click on the dynamic blur image again, and three adjustable parameters will appear in the photo. Gradual dimming is used to adjust the blur effect. If the gradual dimming is high, the blur effect will be low. Therefore, it is recommended to adjust the gradual dimming as low as possible; Angle is the angle of motion blur, and it should be noted that the direction of motion blur should be consistent with the direction of the moving object. For example, if this motorcycle is moving towards the top left, the motion blur should also be towards the top left, rather than horizontal or vertical blur.
(6) After blurring adjustment, click on the eraser above to enter the mask interface: click on the eraser below to adjust the parameters of the eraser, erase the main motorcycle, and make the main motorcycle display clear. If you accidentally make a mistake in wiping, click on the brush next to it and draw the wrong area back to a blurry appearance.
(7) After adjusting, return to the tool interface and select Adjust: increasing the clarity appropriately can make the blurry texture clearer and the main body clearer. Observing this photo, the details of the shadows are not very good, so increasing the shadows makes them brighter.
(8) After adjusting, click on the top right corner to save.
4. Simple and atmospheric main body stick.
(1) In addition to the above methods, we can also pay attention to observing some simple backgrounds, such as the sky, the lake, the grassland, and the distant mountains at the mountaintop.
(2) With a simple background, the subject is easily highlighted. However, for this silhouette photo, the camera should be positioned lower to allow for a horizontal line in the distance and avoid people, which would be better on the water surface.
(3) Using the sky as the background will make the photo appear more concise and atmospheric, while the background is far from the camera and there are no particularly prominent scenery in the background, so the subject will be very prominent.
